What is RSS?

The Barcelona GSE distributes news and event information online via RSS. RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It is an XML-based format for content distribution.

RSS enables a user to receive content updates from websites of interest. The user can easily check the RSS feed to see if new content has been posted. These feeds can be viewed using a program called a news aggregator or in the bookmarks section of an RSS-enabled browser such as Firefox.

Many online media offer RSS feeds. These feeds usually feature headlines or summaries and link back to the original article.

How to Subscribe

When you click on one of the above links, you will be taken to a page with a list of information solicited. At the top of the page there is an invitation to subscribe using Live Bookmarks (if you have the Firefox browser), Bloglines, My Yahoo, and Google. If you use another feed reader that is not included in the list, select it under Choose Application. Then just click on the Subscribe Now button.
